Empower Fund Program Case Studies

Across the country, our relational programs are doing powerful work to connect people and strengthen communities.

Meet with our team to learn more about Empower Fund’s relational programs.

Our approach

Empower Fund’s programs are designed to be relevant, effective, and grounded in trust, equipping people to engage their communities with empathy and credibility.

  • Mobilizers are trained in friend-to-friend outreach that prioritizes cultural competency, respect, and active listening. In addition to relationship-building, they develop media literacy skills—learning how to identify misinformation and navigate complex conversations in ways that are accurate, empathetic, and community-informed.

  • Digital platforms play a critical role in extending relational work. Empower Fund provides training and tools that help mobilizers create organic, community-specific content, including short videos, infographics, and personal stories.

These digital efforts reinforce in-person conversations and help amplify voices that are often excluded from mainstream narratives.

  • Empower Fund is not only a program implementer—we are a learning organization. We invest in ongoing research to understand how civic engagement is evolving, particularly among historically marginalized communities.

Using a community-first research model, mobilizers collect lived-experience insights through conversations and surveys. These perspectives guide program refinement and ensure our strategies remain responsive to real-world needs.

  • In an era where disinformation undermines public trust, Empower Fund leads proactive response efforts. Our disinformation resilience work equips trusted messengers to identify false narratives and replace them with clear, credible, and affirming information.

These strategies draw from best practices in public health and community development, strengthening both community knowledge and cohesion.
